Minnesota’s Rudy and Jessica Borntrager are our guests this week on Word With A Champ. Rudy shares his upbringing in an Omish community with the changes he made to ride bulls for a living. Jessica visits with us about being a bull riders wife and the faith involved. Rudy won first just prior to our interview at the Coors Bull Riding Classic in Waterloo, IA. Hunkpapa Lakota cowboy Chuck Schmidt of the Standing Rock Indian Reservation is our guest on Word With A Champ. The 3X Saddle Bronc Riding qualifier for the super bowl of our sport, the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo is en route to his 4th trip to Las Vegas in December 2017. We visit with this classy gentleman about the specifics of being a seasoned veteran in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association.
Idaho’s Mark McKinlay has mastered the art of riding Bareback Bucking Horses proving himself in ProRodeo. Retired from competition Mark now serves his event and entire sport as a Wrangler ProOfficial. We visited with this gentleman about the challenges and rewards of people serving any sport of their passion as an official or referee.
Western Australian Anthony Thomas came from a very desolate place to chase his Dreams in in the United States of America. Each of the past few years he has reached his stair step of goals. Anthony’s ultimate challenge of qualifying in the top 15 for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo riding Bareback Bucking Horses is at hand. Over half way through the season he is 31st in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association World Standings. Thomas shares his challenges and desires in the heat of this 2017 season.
